Women in Blockchain
November 2, 2024, the Women in Blockchain Conference was hosted which brought passionate women together to explore the theme, “Redefining Innovation: Women Powering Blockchain in Africa.”
The event featured insightful speech and panel discussions, that highlighted the transformative power of blockchain in Africa and the vital role women are playing in this journey. Attendees connected, learned, and shared ideas to build a more inclusive blockchain ecosystem.

DEV Meetup
Connecting innovators as BWCN Developer Meetup that was held on September 21st,
we had a great session on smart contracts, where attendees learned how to create and deploy them.
We also introduced a special POAP (Proof Of Attendance Protocol), allowing participants to mint exclusive NFTs as digital certificates on the Ethereum blockchain.
It was a fantastic way to explore Web 3 and dive into the world of NFTs!, as ideas transform into Reality.
Crypto Meetup
7th September
our vibrant crypto community gathered at Scallywags Café.
We explored Web3, shared insights on crypto and blockchain, and engaged in meaningful discussions.

Empowering Advocacy Webinar
September 12th, 2024,
Mukula C Mangalashi, Director at Blockchain and Web Community Network, participated as a featured speaker in the highly successful webinar “Empowering Advocacy: Blockchain’s Role in African Human Rights and Digital Freedom.”
The event explored how blockchain technology can advance human rights and digital freedom in Africa. Emmanuel spoke passionately on the topic of Blockchain’s Potential to Promote Transparency and Economic Freedom, sharing key insights on how decentralized systems can reshape governance and empower communities.
Alongside two other distinguished panelists, Emmanuel engaged in meaningful discussions, covering areas such as:
– Promoting transparency and accountability through blockchain
– Limiting government overreach in digital spaces
– Enhancing economic freedom through decentralized platforms
Block Stream Local Workshop
7th June
On 7th June, we hosted a successful workshop on the Liquid Network, exploring its role in enhancing Bitcoin transactions with faster, more confidential transfers. Participants gained hands-on experience with Liquid wallets, asset issuance, and decentralized applications.

Bitcoin Pizza Day

On 22nd May, we celebrated Bitcoin Pizza Day, marking the first-ever Bitcoin transaction for goods. The event brought together Bitcoin enthusiasts to share stories, insights, and, of course, pizza!
